When a person is diagnosed with a rare disease like pemphigus or pemphigoid, it's often hard to find someone close by who knows anything about it. Someone who can relate to your feelings and provide a willing ear to listen, answer questions, give advice, share experiences. To fill that void, The IPPF has gathered a wonderful group of volunteers, around the country and around the world, who are willing and eager to do what they can to help those who live in their areas - our Network. Whenever you need to speak with someone, the volunteers are available to talk with you by phone, and are happy to hear from anyone who needs help. Please contact our office for a volunteer in your area. They are here to help with advice, doctor recommendations in your area, etc. Having lived with pemphigus or pemphigoid themselves, they will offer encouragement that you can beat this disease into remission (or at least stabilize it with minimal medication). They are here to offer hope when the going gets tough. If you'd like to join our community and help others with these diseases, please contact us and let us know. We will gladly add you to our list. We welcome anyone, from anyplace in the world. Our goal is to have at least one contact in every state in the U.S. as well as in every country where someone has pemphigus or pemphigoid. We currently have volunteers in the several areas (Registered Users click on the list you need: US list | Worldwide list). Do not worry if there isn't a volunteer in your immediate city because help is only a phone call or email away. We will provide you with the nearest volunteer who can happily and readily assist you.
