Sometimes as a "veteran" patient (20+ yrs) I tend to think I know most of these tests, etc., but when I recently was requested to take this test and it came back "negative" - I immediately thought, "What if I've been misdiagnosed all these years (despite positive biopsies and textbook blisters)?" Before panicking, I searched "ELISA" on this site and found your very easy to understand article. Suddenly my "negative" result makes sense because I had just completed a 9 month course of prednisone and wasn't in a flare.
